TEDxEPGI's Inspirational Symposium

TEDx is a grassroots initiative, created in the spirit of TED’s overall mission to research and discover “ideas worth spreading.” TEDx brings the spirit of TED to local communities around the globe through TEDx events. These events are organized by passionate individuals who seek to uncover new ideas and to share the latest research in their local areas that spark conversations in their communities. TEDx events include live speakers and recorded TED Talks, and are organized independently under a free license granted by TED. These events are not controlled by TED, but event organizers agree to abide by our format, and are offered guidelines for curation, speaker coaching, event organizing and more. They learn from us and from each other. More than 3000 events are now held annually.

Empowering Voices of Youth

On October 15, 2022, the vibrant city of Bangalore, Karnataka, witnessed a transformative event that echoed with the theme "Voices of Youth." Held at the prestigious Auditorium of East Point College of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, this TEDxEPGI gathering brought together a diverse community of minds, featuring members of faculty, students from the East Point group of institutions, and esteemed speakers from various industries and social entrepreneurship backgrounds.
The event served as a dynamic platform for the exchange of ideas centered on life skills enhancement and sustainability. From medical students to engineering graduates, business administration scholars to social entrepreneurs, the speakers represented a spectrum of disciplines and experiences, contributing to a rich tapestry of perspectives.
Among the inspiring speakers were individuals such as Chahat Kakkar, Medical Student, Emmanuel Smiju, Student of Engineering & Technology, Jyothi Bhattacharya, a student of Business Administration; Madhuchandan S E, Founder and an Engineering graduate, founder of Organic Mandya; Maria Susan Roy, a Medical Intern and Medical Doctor – Intern; Shiva Chanpuriya, a Medical Student; and Sudeeptha S V, also a Medical Student. Notable academic figures including Chandrasekhar u, Director, Engineering graduate cum post graduate, PhD Scientist Director, Dr. Prakash Sheelvanthmath, a Computer Science Engineer, Postgraduate, and PhD Principal, Director, Senior Vice President, as well as Dr. S.R.Shankapal, a Mechanical Engineering Graduate, Postgraduate, and PhD Vice Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Executive Director, added depth to the discussions.
The theme "Voices of Youth" resonated throughout the event, empowering students and young professionals to share their thoughts on life skills and sustainability. The diverse range of speakers provided insights into their respective fields, offering a glimpse into the future through the eyes of passionate and determined individuals.
The TEDxEPGI event was not just an intellectual gathering; it was a celebration of the energy, enthusiasm, and innovative spirit that define the youth. From the impactful talks to the interactive sessions, the event left an indelible mark on all attendees, fostering a sense of inspiration and camaraderie.
Dr.S.R.Shankapal, the organizer and driving force behind TEDxEPGI, orchestrated an event that transcended geographical and disciplinary boundaries, creating a platform for the voices of youth to be heard and celebrated.
