B.E. in Civil Engineering
Civil engineering is a prominent and the oldest branch of engineering which deals with construction of buildings, bridges, roads, flyovers, railways, water supply, sanitary structures and development of townships and other infrastructural development. Analytical and logical abilities and a liking for the profession are the essential requirements. Concrete technology, transport engineering, water supply and sanitary engineering, geotechnical engineering, fluid mechanics and machinery, structural mechanics, hydrology and water resources and irrigation engineering are some of the topics covered in this course.

The job opportunities are in civil engineering fields like planning, construction and development. The areas of work include design, planning and laying out. The prevailing boom in the infrastructure and construction sectors has brought the limelight back on to civil engineering and this sector is witnessing heightened activity. Thus, there is a surge in demand for quality civil engineers.
An aggregate of 45%* or more in PUC or XII standard, with physics and mathematics as compulsory subjects and one of the following optional subjects, chemistry, biotechnology, computer science, biology and electronics.

For SC/ST and OBC candidates: Aggregate of 40%* and a pass in English.
