Health care sector is one of the booming industry around the world. There is a persistently
growing demand for Allied Health Science professionals as mid-level health care force in an
exceedingly demanding hospital industry. The advent of modern health care practices and
sophisticated treatment procedures are noted to be the major reasons behind such surge of
health care service sector.
The health care team comprising of doctors, nurses, pharmacists and support team provide a
range of crucial services such as diagnostic, therapeutic, technical, patient care and support, by
crafting a link between the doctors’ treatment and the patients’ community.
Allied Health Science courses train these professionals with required skills based on subjects of
applied medical sciences. They are facilitated to continue their education and awarded with
approved degree certificates.
Anesthesia Technologists perform logistical & technical support to Anesthesiologist & other
technical staff of Operation Theater. They maintain anesthesiology equipment & supplies, set
up anaesthetizing locations & operate, monitor, and collect data from anesthesia related
equipment. In some cases these professionals will also do clinical laboratory tests, equipment-
maintenance/ repair, and special cardiac procedures.
Cardiac Care Technology:
These technicians are trained to perform diagnostic & therapeutic procedures relating to
pulmonary & cardio vascular systems. Trained in variety of tests including ultra sound & cardiac
catheterization to determine health or illness in patient heart, lungs & related systems. They
are responsible for ensuring patient safety & comfort during procedures. Trained to administer
localized anesthesia, monitoring patient & equipment.
Imaging technology is the process of making radiographs of internal structures of body. These
professionals are trained to prepare such radiographs to facilitate experts to diagnose & treat
illness of the patients. Imaging technologists are trained in operating MRI, computed
tomography, sonography & regular x-ray machines. They are trained to prepare patients,
position patients to undergo the radiological tests.
Medical Lab Technology:
These professionals are trained to gain hands on skills to perform various biochemical,
hematological, immunological, microscopic, bacteriological diagnostic analysis on body fluids
such as blood, urine, sputum, stool, cerebrospinal fluid, peritoneal specimen fluid, pericardial
fluid and synovial fluid and others. These professionals have lot of opportunities to work in
biotechnology labs, referral labs, clinics and general/ corporate hospitals.
Perfusion technologists are trained to run machinery that assists or replaces a patient’s own

is capable of being a member of open heart surgical team. He will be responsible for setting up
of heart lung machine, its maintenance, monitoring circulatory process and taking appropriate
corrective measures when required. Also trained to maintain sophisticated equipments in
addition performing certain blood tests.

Renal Dialysis Technology:
This is a highly specialized field taking care of patients who have compromised kidney function.
These professionals are not only trained to operate sophisticated machines which act as
kidneys in removing waste & excess fluids from body but also in maintaining , repairing of these
machines. They are also trained in patient education, counseling of patient & relatives about
dietary habits, adherence to prescribed dialysis.
These professionals are trained in providing comprehensive eye & vision care which includes

the refractive errors and suggest appropriate correction. They deal with eye testing, diagnose
visual problems, optometric counseling, colour blindness & hereditary vision defects,
prescribing spectacles, and suggest eye exercises.
These professionals are the backbone of any health care delivery system. They are trained in
filing and storing patient records such as OPD slips, IP records along with all relevant Lab
investigation charts etc., They are further trained in scanning these documents & storing in
digital form with facilities to retrieve the documents whenever required.
